Unique north Mayo property to go under the hammer

A rare development opportunity in one of north Mayo’s most scenic coastal locations is set to come on the market later this month.

DNG Michael Boland will bring a substantial 11-bedroom detached dwelling in Carrowteige, Portacloy, Ballina, to online auction on Thursday, September 25, at 11 a.m.

The property, a former dance hall, is located along the famed Wild Atlantic Way, has an advised minimum value of €70,000.

Set on approximately 0.65 acres, the holding includes the original dwelling house in need of full refurbishment, an old dance hall, sheds and outbuildings. The site is spread across Folios MY81134F and MY81136F.

The auctioneer describes it as a “unique development opportunity” in a spectacular setting overlooking some of Mayo’s most rugged coastal scenery.

The property is eligible for Vacant Property Refurbishment and SEAI Grants, subject to approval.

“This is a project brimming with potential, whether for someone seeking a rural escape, a local returning home, or a developer with vision,” said a spokesperson for DNG Michael Boland.

The auction takes place online on September 25.
