Mayo club championship quarterfinal draw throws up mouth-watering clashes

The draws for the Mayo GAA club championships quarterfinals have been made, and there should be no shortage of drama across both the Connacht Gold SFC and Egan Jewellers IFC competitions.

In the senior grade, All-Ireland intermediate champions Crossmolina Deel Rovers will host Belmullet in an all-north Mayo clash, while Knockmore face a stern test against a resurgent Ballintubber.

Breaffy and Westport collide in a west Mayo battle, while Ballaghaderreen host holders Ballina Stephenites in another eagerly anticipated tie.

At the other end of the scale, the Connacht Gold SFC relegation semi-finals will be contested at neutral venues, with Ballyhaunis facing Aghamore and Mayo Gaels taking on Charlestown Sarsfields.

In the Egan Jewellers IFC, Ardnaree Sarsfields will meet Parke, Kilmeena clash with Kilmaine, Kiltane take on near-neighbours Cill Chomáin, and Moy Davitts are paired with Ballinrobe.

The relegation semi-finals in the intermediate championship will see Islandeady face Louisburgh, while Lahardane MacHales lock horns with Burrishoole.

Fixture details are to be confirmed, with the next round scheduled for two weeks’ time.
