Proud distinction for Mayo goalkeeping coach

Mayo FC goalkeeping coach Micheál Schlingermann has taken another step in his career after being named in the Republic of Ireland Under-19s backroom team.

The Kiltimagh native is a former Mayo goalkeeper and played professional league of Ireland football with Galway United, Sligo Rovers Athlone Town and Drogheda United. He was named in the 2015 PFAI League of Ireland team of the season.

Schlingermann joins head coach Tom Mohan’s staff alongside ex-Ireland international Kevin Foley. The pair come in following the departure of long-serving coaches Mick Neville and Dermot O’Neill.
