Mayo community comes together after local tragedies

A meeting is being held in the Gateway Hotel, Swinford, tonight (Tuesday) from 7.30 p.m. to helping people deal with the impact of grief.

Titled, ‘A Community Coming Together’, the meeting is being facilitated by HSE West North West Office for Suicide Prevention and the Mayo Suicide Bereavement Liaison Service, The Family Centre, Castlebar.

It was organised following tragic events in east Mayo area in recent weeks

The gathering will consist of a two-hour presentation for adults which aims to inform participants about the grieving process and acknowledge the emotions people may feel following bereavement through suicide.

Local Councillor Adrian Forkan spoke at the September meeting of Mayo County Council about of the impact of recent local tragedies on the community at large.
