Long-serving Mayo-based priest celebrates Irish citizenship
FATHER Britus Kadavunkal, who has ministered in Mayo for a number of years now, is celebrating after receiving his Irish citizenship.
The popular cleric has been warmly congratulated by his friends and parishioners in Westport on becoming an Irish citizen.
Fr. John Kenny, Adm., Westport Parish, shared heartfelt congratulations on his social media to Fr. Britus following the ceremony held at the Convention Centre in Dublin.
Said Fr. John: “His dedication, faith, ministry and service inspire us all.
“We wish him joy, peace, and continued blessings as he embarks on this new chapter of life in our community.”
A native of India, Fr. Britus was first appointed to Aughagower and Cushlough Parish back in 2018 and assumed further responsibilities in Westport Parish in 2023.
