Free support for parents from Mayo child development centre
PARENTING is one of life’s most rewarding journeys but it can also come with moments of stress, uncertainty and overwhelm. To support you through these challenges, Sensational Kids, an award-winning social enterprise and charity in Claremorris, is offering free parent support sessions with Laura Peyton, paediatric occupational therapist.
Whether you’re navigating everyday parenting struggles or facing specific concerns, the sessions are a chance to receive guidance, encouragement and practical strategies from a professional.
Laura is a paediatric occupational therapist in Sensational Kids child development centre in Claremorris. Laura holds a BSc Honours in Occupational Therapy and is currently completing both a Masters in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Adolescent psychotherapy.
With this dual training, Laura combines her expertise in child development and family dynamics with her postgraduate studies in psychotherapy, offering parents a holistic approach that integrates developmental knowledge with therapeutic support.
Laura said: “I am pleased to offer these complimentary sessions as a component of my psychotherapy training. These sessions are intended to furnish parents with a secure, confidential environment in which they can openly discuss their experiences.
"They provide a chance to examine family dynamics, emotional health, and to cultivate practical strategies that will assist both themselves and their children.”
Sessions can be in person or online and are available to book here.
Each session is provided free of charge, with donations to Sensational Kids welcome but not required. Donations can be made here.
Sensational Kids child development centre is located at the Lakeside Retail Park, Claremorris.
