Mayo musician making waves on London rock scene
Ballina native Eric Conlon is carving out a name for himself on the London music scene as the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter with up-and-coming rock and roll outfit The Properness.
Conlon, who has been living in London for nearly three years, joined forces last October with Australian drummer Tom and Catford-born bassist Tommo.
Together they’ve just released their second single Friday Night, a track that captures both the fun and the tensions of a familiar night out.
Speaking about the song, Conlon explained that it’s inspired by the characters and conversations you find when stepping into the pub on a Friday evening.
“For a brief moment you forget your troubles, but beneath the surface the pub isn’t always as safe as it seems.
Familiar faces grow tired of each other, gossip takes over, and serious conversations about life are quickly buried under idle chatter,” he said.
The band are now hoping to build on their growing profile.
Their latest single is available to stream on Spotify.
