Mayo campus kicks off ATU's open days series this week

ATLANTIC Technological University (ATU) will host a series of nine open days across its campuses beginning on October 1 at ATU's Mayo campus in Castlebar.

These events offer prospective students and their families the opportunity to explore ATU’s expanding campuses, meet academic and support staff, and learn about the university’s growing programme offerings.

The first open day on Wednesday in Castlebar will coincide with Mayo County Council’s ‘Jobs of the Future’ event, which highlights emerging career opportunities for graduates of ATU programmes. Visitors will be able to explore the Mayo campus and attend sessions on degree programmes, student life, and future employment prospects.

Speaking ahead of the events, Fiona Kelly, ATU marketing manager, said: “Choosing where to study is one of the biggest decisions a student will make, and no amount of online research can replace experiencing the campuses in person. ATU open days allow prospective students to meet lecturers, support staff and current students, and to get clear, honest answers about programmes, accommodation and student life.

“Our degree programme provision is constantly expanding. We recently introduced new CAO programmes in pharmacy and physiotherapy, and we look forward to welcoming our first intake of veterinary medicine and surgery students in September 2026.

“These open days provide an opportunity to explore our programme range and connect with the key people needed to make informed decisions.”

ATU open days will continue across the university’s campuses throughout October and November. Each event will provide tailored opportunities to explore campus-specific programmes, facilities, and student supports.
