Overcrowding problems persisting at Mayo hospital

A total of 21 patients are awaiting beds at Mayo University Hospital today.

Nine are on trolleys or chairs in the emergency department and 12 are in wards elsewhere.

Nationally, 490 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 303 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 187 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
