Storm Amy impacts football fixtures in Mayo
Storm Amy is going to have an impact on local sporting fixtures this weekend.
The Connacht Football Association has advised that due to Met Eireann's orange weather warning, all of the Connacht Cup fixtures scheduled for tomorrow (Friday, October 3) have been postponed.
One fixture in Mayo is affected by the decision – the Connacht Under 18 Cup clash between keen local rivals Castlebar Celtic and Westport United, due to be played in Celtic Park, Castlebar, at 7.30 p.m.
The Connacht FA has advised leagues and clubs that are in a position to play Friday's fixtures on Saturday (October 4) or Sunday (October 5) to feel free to do so, weather permitting.
Games involving Mayo clubs down for decision on Saturday include the Connacht Junior Shield fixture between Iorras Aontaithe and Tuam Celtic as well as the Connacht Under 18 Cup matches between Conn Rangers and Moyne Villa and Ballina Town and Maree Oranmore B.
On Sunday, the Connacht Junior Cup fixtures featuring Mayo clubs are: Castlerea Celtic v Ballinrobe Town, Ballina Town v Ballisodare United, Manulla v St. John's Athletic, and Maree Oranmore v Westport United.
Sunday's Connacht Junior Shield games with Mayo clubs involved are as follows: Ballaghaderreen v Fahy Rovers, Swinford v Strand Celtic B, Bangor Hibs v Moore United B, Dysart v Castlebar Celtic B, Kinvara United v Straide & Foxford United, Kilmore v Arrow Harps B, Real Tubber v Westport United B, Cregmore Claregalway B v Partry Athletic, Ballyvary Blue Bombers v Dynamo Blues (in Wesport), and Galway Hibs v Killala.
