Mayo’s Chris Cresham releases powerful new single with Mark O’Donnell

Mayo singer-songwriter Chris Cresham today released a deeply personal new track, recorded in collaboration with rising star Mark O’Donnell.

The single, titled ‘BLEED’, will be released on all major streaming platforms today.

Written by Chris alongside former Late Late Toy Show performer Michael Moloney, the track shines a light on family struggles and the impact of mental health challenges.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Chris explained:

“I wrote ‘BLEED’ last year about some family struggles I’ve carried growing up. It reflects my family's struggles.

"The first verse is from my own perspective, while the second, sung by Mark, is written from my mother’s point of view.

"It’s the most personal song I’ve released so far, and I’m proud to finally share it.”

The energetic folk-pop track was produced by Patrick O’Donnell, best known for his work with chart-topping Irish band Kingfishr.

Chris originally wrote the verses in his bedroom before collaborating with Ballina native Michael Moloney to finish the song.

Mark O’Donnell, who features on the release, has been making waves in recent years with a string of acclaimed singles.

His recent track ‘Break Your Heart’ was named RTÉ 2FM’s Track of the Week, while his cover of ‘You to Me Are Everything’ was featured on Love Island UK last summer.

Chris, meanwhile, is also enjoying a breakthrough year.

His single ‘Catching Fire’ was named iRadio’s Track of the Month, he picked up an award during Irish Music Month, and Hot Press Magazine shortlisted him for Most Promising Act of the Year. Since relocating to London, he has been performing full-time and recently supported Allie Sherlock on tour.

The release of ‘BLEED’ comes just weeks ahead of Mark O’Donnell’s headline show in The Academy, Dublin, on November 20 – where Chris will join him on stage for a special live performance of the song.

‘BLEED’ is be available on Spotify, Apple Music and all major platforms from today.
