Mayo school marks retirement of staff member after 48 years service
Ballyhaunis Community School has paid tribute to a long-serving staff member on her retirement.
A post on the school's Facebook page stated: "Our hugely popular clerical officer Justina Lyons drew the curtain on a remarkable career when she recently retired from her post after 48 years of dedicated service.
"Over her long and distinguished career Justina became synonymous with the school.
"Her commitment, loyalty and kindness did much to shape the wonderful sense of community that exists within BCS.
"Justina’s unwavering presence, day after day, year after year, was a testament to her deep sense of duty and love for the school.
"As well as tending to her duties as clerical officer Justina always went that extra mile to ensure all students were cared for and treated with kindness and respect.
"To many Justina was the public face of the school and she was steadfast in promoting positivity about all facets of life in BCS.
"Justina leaves behind not just a job well done, but a lasting legacy of service and kindness.
"Everyone associated with the school would like to wish Justina and her family many years of health and happiness in retirement."
