Derelict site transformed into new homes on old Mayo street

Works are substantially completed on a new social housing project at Lower Charles Street in Castlebar.

Four new one-bedroom apartments will be allocated within the coming weeks.

The development, carried out by Finna Construction, Cross, Cong, on behalf of Mayo County Council, involved the removal of two derelict properties on the street.

The new buildings represent a big boost for one of the county town's oldest streets.
