Mayo Football League to introduce Senior Masters competitions

The Mayo Football League has announced that it will introduce football competitions for players aged 42 and over with the Senior Masters series.

The decision was announced following a meeting of the League Management Committee last night (Monday).

The competitions will commence on Wednesday, January 7, with the current Masters rules to apply.

A total of 11 teams will participate in one division, with one round of fixtures (10 league matches per team).

The following clubs have entered teams: Ballina Town, Ballinrobe Town, Ballyglass, Ballyvary Blue Bombers, Castlebar Town, Claremorris, Conn Rangers, Fahy Rovers, Manulla, Snugboro United and Westport United.

When the league is completed, a cup competition will follow.

The Mayo Football League has been running very successful Masters competitions for players aged 35 and over for a good number of years.
