Unique new café set to open in Mayo town next week
A new addition to Castlebar’s food scene is set to open its doors next week, bringing a touch of international flair to Market Street.
The Green Café, located on the site of the former Ketterick’s butchers on Market Square, will open to the public on Thursday, October 16.
The venture is the brainchild of business partners Mike Murga and Tom Gula.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Tom said the team is “so excited to bring this to Castlebar.”
“We have top-quality chefs who have worked in France in some top establishments. We want to bring fine dining breakfast and lunch options to Castlebar at decent prices,” he said.
Considerable effort has gone into preparing the new space, with a full kitchen refit, new lighting, artwork, and décor to create a bright and welcoming atmosphere.
The owners say the Green Café aims to offer a relaxed yet refined dining experience, combining continental expertise with a warm Mayo welcome.
