Concorde’s David Cunningham is hosting his own show in Castlebar on Friday night.

Popular Mayo band vocalist presents 'This Is The Moment'

The talented vocalist of one of Mayo's longest established bands, Concorde, is taking the spotlight in what is billed as an unforgettable night of music at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, next Friday at 8 p.m.

David Cunningham’s concert, 'This Is The Moment', will showcase the wide range of his singing skills by performing a wide selections of his favourite songs, including 'Summer in Dublin', 'Hallelujah', 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For', 'From Now On', 'You Raise Me Up', 'Ava Marie' and Bridge Over Troubled Waters'.

A native of Belcarra and widely known throughout the county, he will be joined on stage by the Mayo Concert Orchestra and the Vocalessence Ladies Choir in a breathtaking night of song and orchestral brilliance.

Directed by the acclaimed Kathy Fahey, this is a musical celebration to which David has been keenly looking forward.

He said: "I have a lifelong love of music and song. I have really enjoyed the experience of performing with Concorde over the past 30 years at weddings and other social events in Mayo and further afield.

"The interaction with the audience is so important. However to perform with an orchestra and choir will be the pinnacle of my career to date.

“The idea came about during a conversation with Kathy Fahey and she has given me immense encouragement and direction.

"I am now looking forward to the concert and hope it will draw a big attendance from throughout the county. I can promise that it will be a really enjoyable and uplifting experience."

Tickets can be purchased in advance on eventbrite - but there will also be an opportunity to pay on the door at the venue. Doors open at 7.30 p.m.
