Mayo ready for FBD League's return in January
The FBD Football League will make a welcome return for the 2026 season, with the draw and competition details having been finalised. The competition was not held this year.
Its return next year will mark FBD’s 30th year as the sponsor of the Connaught league competition.
The competition will be run on a league format and the dates and fixtures are as follows: round one, January 3/4 - Sligo v Mayo, Galway v London, Roscommon v Leitrim; round two, January 9/10 - Leitrim v Galway, London v Sligo, Mayo v Roscommon.
After two rounds, the top two sides will meet in the FBD Cup final, the third and fourth placed teams will contest the Shield final, and the fifth and sixth placed teams will face off in the Plate final - all on the weekend of January 17/18.
Meanwhile, the Connaught Under 20 and Under 17 football fixtures for Mayo have been confirmed.
At Under 20 level, Mayo will travel to Sligo in the first round before receiving a bye in round two. Rounds three, four and five are as follows: Mayo v Roscommon, Leitrim v Mayo, Mayo v Galway. The dates have yet to be confirmed.
The second and third placed teams will meet in the semi-final, with the top team in the group advancing to the provincial final.
Mayo have a bye in round one of the Under 17 championship, with the remaining rounds as follows: round two, March 27 - Leitrim v Mayo; round three, April 3 - Roscommon v Mayo; round four, April 10 - Sligo v Mayo; round five, April 17 - Mayo v Galway.
The top team in the group will advance to the final, to be played on May 8, while the semi-final between second and third will take place on May 1.
