Contractors set to be appointed to Mayo urban housing project

Mayo County Council is set to appoint contractors to erect four two-bedroom houses at Newtown on a site on the junction with Marian Row in Castlebar.

Planning permission is in place for the project.

A design team has been appointed to bring forward three properties at Barrack Bridge in the county town as a refurbishment project.

A total of 33 new dwellings, a mix of 11 three-bedroom and 22 two-bedroom, are progressing at Turlough Road.

Castlebar Municipal District has received an expression of interest from a developer for 20 affordable houses, to be built in two phases.

A funding application is being prepared for submission to the Department of Housing.

The location has not yet been revealed.

Tenders are under consideration for 37 new houses at Lios Na Circe, Saleen, with a decision due in the coming weeks.
