The awards were presented by Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, who praised the dedication and community spirit shown by local volunteers.
“It’s a brilliant achievement for our wonderful volunteers – míle buíochas to everyone involved,” Minister Calleary said. “It was a real honour to present the awards today and to see such strong representation from Mayo.”
The five gold medals underline the county’s long-standing success in the Tidy Towns competition, with Mayo communities consistently performing at the highest level nationally.
