Four Mayo residents attend President Higgins' final afternoon tea in Áras an Uachtaráin
Four dedicated members of the Belcarra community in central Mayo attended President Michael D. Higgins’ final afternoon tea reception at Áras an Uachtaráin.
This special event, hosted by President Higgins and his wife, Sabina, was one of the president’s final gatherings celebrating community and voluntary work across Ireland.
Mary Joe Cannon, Mary Fitzgerald, Mary Prendergast and Tony Cunningham were invited to Áras an Uachtaráin as a well-deserved recognition for their outstanding commitment, leadership and service to the local area.
Each of the attendees has played a vital role in enhancing community life in Belcarra, serving on multiple committees and working tirelessly to make positive improvements for residents.
Their dedication to local initiatives, events and projects continues to strengthen the community spirit that Belcarra is known for.
Speaking on behalf of the chairperson of Belcarra Community Council, Fionnán Nestor said: “We are absolutely delighted that our members received this honour.
