Mayo SNA running Dublin Marathon in aid of 'remarkable children'
And she needs your help to raise €4,000 for St. Brid's Special School in Castlebar
A member of the staff of St. Brid's Special School is taking part in the Dublin Marathon today to raise funds for the school.
Special Needs Assistant Marcella McDonnell has already raised €1,565 of her €4,000 target, via an iDonate appeal, to help pay for new equipment for the children.
At St. Brid's School, every child's unique potential is valued and celebrated.
Stated Marcella: "Our mission is to foster an environment that empowers our students to thrive both educationally and personally.
"By providing excellent, evidence-based educational support, we aim to holistically enhance the lives of our students, empowering them to actively engage in their families and communities.
"We provide a nurturing and inclusive space for these remarkable children, many of whom are diagnosed with autism and often have additional learning disabilities like Down Syndrome, epilepsy, ADHD, and ADD among others.
"Our core objective is to ensure that every child feels cared for, trusted, and supported.
"Our curriculum is broad, child-centred and tailored to enhance each pupil's unique strengths and abilities.
"We acknowledge and address the academic, physical, social and emotional needs of our students, creating an environment that fuels growth and positivity.
"Through your generosity, you can help us maintain this nurturing environment and continue providing our vital, life-changing services.
"Every euro donated on the iDonate platform will directly contribute to creating a brighter future for our students.
"By becoming a part of our community, you're not just donating - you're championing the cause of these incredible children, enabling them to shine with their individual brilliance.
"Your support makes a difference - together, let's continue to inspire, educate, and empower.
"All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause."
