Future vision for the heart of Mayo town open to public feedback
Long regarded as the heart of Castlebar, the mall is set for a major rejuvenation, and local people are invited to help shape its future.
Castlebar Municipal District has announced that it is developing a Masterplan for The Mall, supported by funding from the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF).
The aim is to enhance this much-loved green space, which has long served as a centre for relaxation, celebration, and community life in the county town.
A non-statutory public consultation has now opened to share emerging design proposals and gather public feedback on the project’s direction.
Locals are encouraged to view the plans and submit their ideas and opinions over the coming weeks.
The proposals will be on public display from Thursday, October 30, to Thursday, November 27 (excluding weekends and public holidays) at: Castlebar Municipal District, Áras an Chontae, Castlebar.
Viewing hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
