18 Mayo recipients of First Choice Credit Union €150k community fund
First Choice Credit Union has announced the recipients of its €150,000 Community Fund for 2025, an increase of €50,000 on 2024.
With almost 90 applications submitted, the selection process for the community fund was extremely competitive, with each application evaluated on its benefit to the community, sustainability, alignment with the values of the Credit Union and environmental benefits.
In total, 18 recipients have been selected to share the €150,000 Community Fund.
First Choice Credit Union chairperson, Joe Butler said: “It is our pleasure to support these highly deserving community initiatives across our common bond.
"We eagerly anticipate the meaningful and lasting benefits these projects will bring to their communities.
"Congratulations to all successful recipients. We also extend our sincere appreciation to all applicants for their remarkable voluntary contributions, which we greatly admire and respect.”
Anne King, CEO of First Choice Credit Union, commented: “We were delighted to receive such a positive response and so many outstanding applications for our community fund.
"The work and projects taking place across our local communities are truly inspiring, and we’re proud to play a role in their continued success.
"To those who were not successful this time, we encourage you to apply again in the future.”
First Choice Credit Union will launch another round of the Community Fund in 2026. Be sure to submit your application and your local group could be one of the lucky recipients next year.
Whilst the Community Fund is for larger scale projects and initiatives, First Choice Credit Union continue to provide sponsorship and financial supports to clubs, groups, schools, charities and more, throughout their common bond on an ongoing basis.
These smaller sponsorships, which are separate to the community fund, continue to play a key role locally with over €23,000 being issued to over 70 recipients this year alone.
A sponsorship form can be collected in any First Choice Credit Union branch or downloaded here.
