Three weeks of road works to begin on busy north Mayo route
Road surfacing works are set to get underway on the R314 (Killala Road) in Ballina from Monday, November 3, Mayo County Council has confirmed.
The improvement works will take place between Circular Road and Bohernasup from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and are expected to last for approximately three weeks.
During this period, the road will remain open to northbound traffic only.
Motorists travelling from Ballina towards Killala can continue to use the Killala Road as normal.
However, those travelling from Killala towards Ballina will need to divert via Belleek, Bohernasup, or Sli Ectra.
Traffic management systems will be in place throughout the works, and drivers are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their journeys.
Mayo County Council has thanked road users for their patience and cooperation while the resurfacing works are carried out.
