'Frightening' speeds on urban road in Mayo county town

AN issue of speeding at St. Martin's Terrace in Castlebar has been highlighted by Councillor Michael Kilcoyne.

It is happening between the two roundabouts at Mulroy's and LIDL.

People living there or walking in the area are frightened by the speed of passing traffic and he has asked the council to look at the situation.

Councillor Kilcoyne, speaking at a municipal district meeting, also highlighted another difficulty locally, where residents can't get in or out in their cars at Lawn Park.

Cars are parking everywhere, he said, and recently an ambulance couldn't get through to attend a call.
