"I'm pleased to say we had an unprecedented level of entries this year both in terms of quantity and quality," said Andrea Kean, president of Claremorris Chamber, who are the host chamber for this year's awards.
"The judges had a tough time whittling numbers down to a shortlist of three in each category. We really have some outstanding businesses in the county and the Mayo Business Awards is a genuine celebration of them all."
The awards event will culminate with a very special event, the Mayo Emerging Business Pitch Competition which has an incredible prize fund of €30,000 to be divided between a maximum of three businesses. The winners will be announced at the awards lunch.
John Magee, Head of Enterprise, Local Enterprise Office Mayo said: "The Mayo Emerging Business Pitch Competition is a wonderful way to celebrate 10 years of the Mayo Business Awards with a chance for early stage businesses to share in €30,000."
The organisers wish to thank the sponsors of the awards, and media partners, including The Connaught Telegraph, whose support is essential for the awards to run successfully.
