Mayo community mourns passing of popular young man

Tributes are being paid to Matthew Sullivan, Foxpoint, Barnatra, Ballina, whose death has taken place.

The deceased was beloved son of Kevin and Pauline Sullivan and cherished brother to Robert and Rebecca.

In a tribute, Carne Golf Links stated: "It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our dear friend and colleague Matthew Sullivan.

"Matthew worked in the clubhouse for many years and was loved by everyone who met him.

"His quick wit, his kindness, and his ability to make everyone laugh — always true to himself, and always bringing joy to those around him.

"Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his parents, Kevin and Pauline, his brother Robert, his sister Rebecca, and all who loved him.

"Rest peacefully, Matthew. You’ll forever be part of Carne."

The funeral arrangements will be announced later.
