Former Mayo pub to become community building

A NEW community building is in the pipeline for Killala.

A former pub in the town is set to be transformed to serve up a new public use.

Killala Community Council has sought planning permission for a change of use of The Tower Bar on Market Street, from public house to community building.

The redeveloped property will include a library space, training space, retail and multi-purpose space, offering a significant boost to community amenities in Killala.

The planning application is being considered by Mayo County Council, with a decision due in mid December.
