Improvement works on west Mayo road welcomed

Improvement works on the R335 Louisburgh - Westport road at Belclare have been welcomed by Councillor Chris Maxwell.

Works got underway on Monday and will continue until Friday, November 14.

Traffic management is in place, with delays possible.

The works are being done by Michael O'Malley Contractors, Castlebar.

Councillor Maxwell thanked all involved at Mayo County Council for facilitating this work on the first section.

And mindful of the need for further upgrades on the route, he said: “I will be keeping the pressure on to ensure that the next sections will be delivered as soon as possible.”
