Youth art programme returns to Mayo this November
EXCEL is Mayo County Council's Youth Arts Programme and provides lots of opportunities for young people in Mayo to explore their creativity, gain new skills in various art forms and encounter practicing artists.
This year's programme has a youth theatre masterclass and workshops. Among those is ‘Tin Maker’ a series of workshops celebrating Traveller culture and heritage. Other events include a post primary presentation by James Winnett on his recent public art commission ‘The Touchstones’, as well as animation and musical workshops.
There will also be details on the upcoming ‘Designing your Future – Creative Careers Information Day’, which will take place in Belmullet, on November 27.
The art programme offers challenging opportunities and fun in equal measures.
Art programme workshops will take place in venues across the county including Achill, Ballina, Ballinrobe, Belmullet, Charlestown, Castlebar and Foxford. All events are free of charge and must be booked in advance as places may be limited.
The full programme brochure is available here.
This programme is strategically funded by Mayo County Council in partnership with the Arts Council and Sláintecare Healthy Communities.
