Mayo shot-stopper named in Ireland Under 21 Squad
Former Westport United goalkeeper Conor Walsh has been named in the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad for this month’s fixtures against England and Andorra.
The talented shot-stopper, who came through the ranks at United Abbvie Park before moving into the League of Ireland system, continues to impress at underage international level and is one of four home-based players selected by manager Jim Crawford.
Walsh joins his Sligo Rovers team-mate Jad Hakiki in the squad. The other two League of Ireland players in the 23-man panel are Tommy Lonergan and Mason Melia.
Ireland will first travel to Birmingham to take on England at St. Andrew’s at Knighthead Park on Friday, November 14, before heading to Andorra for their second fixture on Tuesday, November 18, at the Estadi Nacional.
