Mayo Leisure Point celebrates 32 years and awards hat-trick
Mayo Leisure Point, celebrating 32 years in business this week, has received a remarkable hat-trick of prestigious awards, cementing its reputation as one of Connacht’s leading family entertainment destinations.
Founded by the late Joe Mulroy in 1993 on the site of Castlebar’s former Bacon Factory, the business began with a simple idea: to bring bowling to Mayo.
From those beginnings, the centre has evolved into a dynamic entertainment complex that includes:
• Mayo Leisure Point - Bowling, Laser World, Nokeys Adventureland, Bowl Diner, Arcade & Family Fun
• Mayo Movie World - 7-screen modern cinema showing all the latest releases and live events
• Castle Leisure Club - State-of-the-art gym, aerobics, sauna and steam room and The Hello Goodlife Health and wellbeing hub
• Hog’s Heaven Bar and Garbo’s Venue - Bar, live music, and event space
Today, under the direction of sisters Cora and Breda Mulroy, Mayo Leisure Point continues to thrive as a family-run business that champions inclusion, community connection, and local employment.
