Cool and breezy conditions to continue across Mayo

Mayo looks set for a cloudy and damp Friday, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle expected throughout the day.

Met Eireann forecast conditions to be noticeably drier and brighter, offering a brief respite from the unsettled spell further north.

A fresh to strong northeasterly wind will make it feel cooler than the thermometer suggests, with daytime highs of just 8 or 9 degrees across the county.

Nationally, the outlook remains mixed, with rain or drizzle at times and temperatures staying a little below average for mid-November.

Friday night will bring a contrast across the country, Ulster and north Connacht should enjoy dry conditions and some clear spells, while other areas remain cloudy and wet.

Winds will stay fresh to strong from the northeast, with overnight lows between 4 and 8 degrees.
