Horse part-owned by Mayo GAA coach is a 40/1 winner at Punchestown

A mare owned by a syndicate involving Paddy Tally, the Mayo senior football team coach, has won a prestigious race today at Punchestown despite being a 40/1 outsider.

Sopelena, bred by New England and Mount Cook Stud and trained by Cian Collins, raced to victory in the Matchbook Betting Podcast three-year-old hurdle with a prize fund of €13,500.
