A Mayo pub is celebrating an All-Ireland award.

Nevin's Newfield Inn in Tiernaur has been named the Innovative Pub of the Year at the Irish Pub Awards.

Attended by 70 regional winners, the national awards ceremony celebrated the best in Irish pubs. Nevin's had already won the Connaught regional award.

They were hailed by the Vintners Federation of Ireland as being 'proof that creativity and community can go hand in hand'.

Mellett's Emporium in Swinford was also a national finalist having won the Best Local Pub Connaught award.

Celebrating their national win, management at Nevin's said: “This recognition means the world to us - it celebrates not just our passion for what we do, but the incredible people who make it all possible.

“A huge thank you to our amazing team for their creativity, hard work, and heart, and to our wonderful community for your constant support over the years. We did this together!

“Here’s to continuing to innovate, celebrate and gather in community.”
