McDonald’s proposal a vote of confidence for south Mayo town
THE imminent arrival of McDonald's to Claremorris has been welcomed by local Councillor Richard Finn.
If granted planning permission, it will be the fast-food retailer's first new outlet in Mayo since 1998, and only its second restaurant in the county.
Speaking at a municipal district meeting, Councillor Finn said he welcomed McDonald's having lodged an application for planning permission, saying it was a 'vote of confidence' in the town. And they have his full support.
It will bring an influx of people to Claremorris, a town renowned for welcoming brand names. And if you don't encourage them to come and do business in your town, you won't progress, he commented.
“It's a major vote of confidence,” said Councillor Finn.
