Tributes to former Mayo florist on her passing
Tributes are being paid to Julia Prendergast (née Connor), The Curragh, Castlebar, and formerly of Provlervale, Turlough, whose death has occurred.
She died peacefully yesterday in the wonderful care of the staff in Cuan Chatríona Nursing Home, Castlebar.
Predeceased by her son Michael, husband Jimmy, brothers and sisters, she is deeply regretted by her loving family: daughters Breda (Rogan, Dublin) and Aine (Orifice, UK), sons James (Galway) and Patrick (Castlebar), sons-in-law John and Demi, sisters-in-law Maise (Connor, Keelogues) and Noreen (Prendergast, Claremorris), grandchildren Sinead, Ciarán, Eóin, Niall, Alex, Louis and Aidan, great- grandchildren Ava and Otis, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
The deceased worked as a florist in Castlebar for many years and was held in high regard for her courtesy and kindness.
Fond tributes are being paid to her on social media.
One stated: "She was a lovely lady and a wonderful, talented florist."
Another said: "Julia was a great neighbour. She was so kind."
Julia will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Tuesday from 6.00 p.m. with removal at 7.30 p.m. to her residence.
Removal from her residence on Wednesday morning at 10.30 for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Julia will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
