Mayo community grieves death of talented chef

The death of Valentina Landini, Meadow Park, Westport Road, Castlebar, and late of Oleggio, Italy, is deeply regretted.

In her early 40s, the deceased worked as a chef in the county town for some time.

The restaurants in which she was employed over the years included the House of Plates, Al Muretto and Breaffy House Hotel.

News of her passing has evoked a tremendous sense of loss in the community, such was the high regard in which she was held.

Predeceased by her father Sergio, she is mourned by by her heartbroken mother Maria Grazia, uncles Mauro and his wife Alberta and Walter and his wife Cinzia, relatives, neighbours, many friends and colleagues, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Valentina will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Sunday from 3.30 p.m. with removal at 5 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Requiem Mass on Monday at 11 a.m. will be followed by a cremation service at 3 p.m. in Shannon Crematorium, Shannon, Co. Clare.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.
