Super festive weekend planned for Mayo town

A super festive weekend is planned for Ballinrobe beginning with the Christmas Market, on Saturday, November 29. The market will run from 11 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. in the Pavillion at Ballinrobe Racecourse and will see almost 100 stalls of Irish Christmas arts, crafts, foods and holistic care. A shuttle bus service to the market at the Racecourse will depart from Main Street, beside the old courthouse, at 11 a.m. and every half hour thereafter. The cost for this bus service is €2 per-person and the fee can be paid directly to the bus driver.

Santa Claus will also be in attendance at the market and parents can book their children to visit Santa at the following times: 11 a.m. (sensory only), 11.20 a.m., 11.40 a.m., 12 noon, 12.20 p.m., 12.40 p.m., 1 p.m., 1.50 p.m. (sensory only), 2.10 p.m., 2.30 p.m., 2.50 p.m., 3.10 p.m., 3.30 p.m., 3.50 p.m., 4.10 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. Parents can book a time slot for their children by WhatsApp messaging 087 3802650 or email tacuevents@gmail.com

Parents will then receive a message or email confirming the time slot, and all bookings must be paid for in advance.

On Sunday, November 30, the ever-popular Christmas Lights Tractor Parade will take place at 5 p.m. Some of the top tractors in the west of Ireland will be decorated in Christmas lights for a parade around the bustling south Mayo town. A memorable evening is anticipated for what is always a fun-filled family occasion.
