Mayo students take centre stage at MIC awards

MARY Immaculate College (MIC) celebrated the achievements of 94 students at its seventh annual college awards ceremony in Limerick, recognising an impressive range of academic, sporting, research and cultural accomplishments.

A diverse array of scholarships, bursaries, and prizes was awarded, amounting to just over €320,000. The celebration honoured both first-time recipients and those who continue to excel in their academic achievements and extracurricular pursuits.

Mayo natives Sarah Gibbons, Clodagh Moran and Lauren Clancy were among the awardees.

Clodagh Moran received the West Chester Scholarship for the Bachelor of Education in Education and Psychology programme at MIC. The scholarship is presented to the two graduates who were successful in a competitive process amongst the highest achieving graduates of the B.Ed and the B.Ed in Education and Psychology programmes. This scholarship is presented by the College’s Faculty of Education in conjunction with the West Chester University, Pennsylvania.

Sarah Gibbons received an Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology programme, while Lauren Clancy received an Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship to the Bachelor of Arts programme at MIC. The scholarships, both valued at €2,000, were awarded on the basis of high-level CAO points obtained in the Leaving Certificate.
