Talented Mayo boxer seals European silver medal in Budapest
Castlebar Boxing Club's Natalia Fasciszewska has secured a silver medal at the European Under-23 championships in Budapest.
She achieved her prestigious accolade following a thrilling final against No. 1 rated, Poland's Julia Szeremeta.
This was Natalia first outing at this level of international benchmark competition.
Her journey to the finals has included wins over Azerbaijan’s Aynur Mikayilova, Gabriella Weerheimand of the Netherlands and Georgia’s Khuraman Kausumov.
Congratulating her, Castlebar Boxing Club stated: "What a girl.
"At 20 years of age and first time ever boxing in European championships, she brings home a silver medal.
"Only losing out in the final to a girl who is ranked as the No. 1 elite level boxer in the world at 57kg.
"Hold your head high Natalia. You've done us all very very proud."
