Minister Dillon welcomes €128,225 funding for Mayo Animal Welfare groups
Minister of State Alan Dillon TD has welcomed funding of €128,225 to support three Mayo-based animal welfare organisations.
The allocations are as follows:
Mayo Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Company Limited – €36,375
Ainmhithe Animal Rescue – €36,050
North West SPCA Ballina – €55,800
Speaking on the announcement, Minister Dillon said: “I am delighted to welcome this significant funding from Minister Martin Heydon, Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to three Mayo animal welfare bodies. This investment is an acknowledgement of the vital role these organisations play within our county, safeguarding animal welfare and providing frontline support to vulnerable animals.”
Minister Dillon highlighted the dedication of volunteers across Mayo: “I especially want to thank the many volunteers who give their time and energy to protect animal welfare. Their commitment is frontline work that we can all be proud of. This funding will help ensure that these organisations can continue their great work into the future.”
Minister Dillon concluded by reaffirming his support for animal welfare initiatives across the region, noting that the funding reflects the Government’s recognition of the essential contribution made by local organisations and volunteers in protecting and caring for animals.
