Oíche na hÓige celebrated across Mayo

Oíche na hÓige, an initiative of the Department of Education and Youth in partnership with Mayo, Sligo and Leitrim ETB, is a national celebration highlighting the vibrant network of youth clubs, services, workers, and volunteers supporting young people across Ireland.

A series of vibrant and highly successful Oíche na hÓige youth events took place across Mayo, Sligo, and Leitrim, with representatives from MSLETB in attendance at multiple locations throughout the three counties. Their presence was warmly welcomed by all participating groups.

Volunteer-led youth clubs and UBU projects proudly showcased their work to their local communities, MSLETB and public representatives. The events placed young people at the centre, with the youth acting as MCs, sharing their experiences, and showcasing display boards that highlighted their wide range of initiatives they participated in throughout the year.

Afterwards, guests were invited to enjoy tea and refreshments as they mingled and celebrated the creativity, leadership, and contributions of local young people.

All involved are already looking forward to Oíche na hÓige 2027.
