An Post confirm Post Office facilities to remain in Mayo village
Senator Mark Duffy has received confirmation from An Post that the post office facilities will remain in Barnatra and will now not move to a central facility on the Killala Road in Ballina. This is a welcome development following intensive discussions with postal workers.
Senator Duffy has campaigned for this to remain in situ and has complemented local postmaster John Healy and the 13 workers who will remain in their current positions.
Duffy said the change was nonsensical given the large geographical distance between both areas and welcomed the decision. He said the same decision must be made for Ballyhaunis postal workers and will continue the campaign for this.
