Balla GAA Club hosting St. Stephen’s Day 5k fun run

Balla GAA's annual St. Stephen’s Day 5k will start at Balla Community Centre on Friday, December 26, with registration from 11 a.m., and the run starting at 11.30 a.m.

Registration costs €10, and kids go free.

This year all proceeds raised will go directly to the charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie, which is Ireland’s national children’s cancer charity, and was set up in 2010 by Mick Rochford and Jimmy Norman after the death of Jimmy’s daughter Aoibheann from a rare type of cancer.

Aoibheann’s Pink Tie provides practical, emotional and financial fall back to those families who need it. The support varies case by case as almost every situation is different.

This charity is near and dear to Balla GAA Club and they are very grateful and privileged to support them in this small way, by donating all funds received from the annual St. Stephen’s Day 5k to the charity.
