New appointment confirmed for long-serving Mayo councillor

Long-serving Mayo Fianna Fáil Councillor Brendan Mulroy has been appointed a Peace Commissioner for Mayo by Minister Niall Collins as prescribed under Section 88 of the Courts of Justice Act 1924.

The Westport-based representative stated: "I am delighted and honoured.

"Over the past number of years through my involvement in community work I have often been approached by members of the public requesting assistance with official documents.

"I look forward to continuing to serve the people of West Mayo and Mayo into the future."
