Mixed conditions set to persist with it turning cooler in Mayo from Sunday

Another unsettled day across the county tomorrow, according to the latest forecast.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 19

Saturday will be a rather windy start.

A band of rain will move north-eastwards across the province during the late morning and early afternoon with showers following in behind during the evening hours.

Highest temperatures of 8 or 9 degrees.

Brisk south-east winds will ease off through the day.

Unsettled over the coming days with rain or showers, as well as turning cooler if not colder from Sunday.

However, high pressure will bring mostly dry and fairly calm conditions from later Tuesday, lasting for much of the Christmas period.

SATURDAY NIGHT:

A very cold and calm night with frost and ice developing under clear skies.

Some freezing fog possible across Ulster and the Midlands too.

Showers will move into southeast and east areas later, locally turning wintry.

Lowest temperatures of -2 to + 2 degrees.
