January start on Mayo industrial park extension

WORK will commence in January on the extension of the Westport Industrial Estate.

The extension will provide 13 new sites and also includes a new connecting road between the Golf Course Road and N59/northern relief.

The confirmation of the start date has been welcomed by Councillor Peter Flynn who also had more positive news for the town - the upgrade of the Upper Mill Street car park will also commence in early January.

New traffic flow and additional works will facilitate 30 extra car parking spaces with works included to provide for some high speed EV chargers at the location.

Councillor Flynn thanked his fellow councillors and the Westport Municipal District team for their efforts to finally get both of these projects over the line.
