Tributes to former Mayo Roadstone manager who has died in his 100th year
The death of Richard (Dick) Quinn of Windsor, Castlebar, has evoked a huge loss of loss in the community.
An affable and widely respected personality, he passed away peacefully yesterday at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
In his 100th year, he was a former manager of Roadstone, Castlebar, and was widely known throughout the region.
Predeceased by his wife Peggy, parents, brothers and sisters, he is deeply regretted by his loving daughters Mary (O’ Malley, Manulla), Carmel (Tully, Windsor), Teresa (Baird, Westport), Ann (Glendon, Windsor), and Vivienne (Molloy, Turlough), sons Alan (Windsor), Ray (Windsor), Fintan (Castlebar) and Gary (Windsor), daughters-in-law Anne, Marie and Yvonne, sons-in-law, Timmy, Pat, David, Gerry and Pat, nieces, nephews, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Warm tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.
One stated: "Fond memories of special golf moments playing with him in Mulranny, a very good golfer and a true gentleman, always a pleasure to be in his company."
Another said: "A name regularly spoken of with respect and affection in our house growing up. A long life well lived."
"A gentleman always - both in business and in life," a further tribute observed.
Dick will repose in Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, tomorrow (Tuesday) from 5 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to his residence.
Removal from his residence on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. (via Liscromwell) for Requiem Mass at 11 a.m in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Dick will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
