Central Mayo greenway users benefit from works investment

THE Turlough greenway has seen significant improvement works.

The update on investment in the popular route was published in the monthly municipal district tourism report issued to councillors.

An allocation for asset renewal from Transport Infrastructure Ireland has increased from €400,000 to €665,000 this year. And the investment has delivered significant improvements, including three kilometres of high-quality road overlay.

The works also include five kilometres of new fencing along the route, which is much welcomed.
